Visual Arts

Creativity has always been highly valued and celebrated at South Geelong Primary School. Our Visual Arts program encourages students to explore, experiment and express ideas through a range of hands-on artistic experiences.

Students develop skills and understanding through drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, collage, construction, digital art and printmaking while exploring the elements of art and principles of design. Through artist explorations, rich discussions and practical making experiences students design, trial and refine their own artworks. A strong focus is placed on Australian artists, particularly First Nations and local artists, inspiring students to connect with culture, community and creativity.

Our annual Arts & Music Show brings the school community together to celebrate the creativity and talents of all students at SGPS.
